Dr. Rebecca Vazquez
Dr. Rebecca Vazquez has dedicated her life to helping people heal.
For almost 15 years, Dr. Vazquez has worked with interpersonal violence across different communities of age, culture, gender, and faith backgrounds. She is passionate about her work focusing on trauma recovery and education. Feeling at home during a one-on-one session and also while speaking in front of an audience is a point of pride. Dr. Vazquez is passionate about using her voice and skill to help individuals and organizations grow by using evidence-based techniques and also just being a relatable human.
While raised in South Jersey, Dr. Vazquez started her professional roots in Central Jersey by attending Rider University and The College of New Jersey for her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s degree in Counselor Education respectively. After working at a county-based domestic and sexual violence program for several years, she realized that she was not specifically taught to treat trauma during her training and sought her doctorate degree to help teach future counselors the needed skills to be trauma-informed. She graduated with her doctorate degree from Regent University in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2017 and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey (# 37PC00691500) a Board Certified National Certified Counselor (#238632).
